EXTREMELY Rusty Potato Chipper SURPRISING Restoration
Переглядів 78 тис.3 роки тому
In this video I will be restoring a Metcalfe manual potato chipper. I found this chipper at a bootsale for £3. The purchase price is rather insignificant considering I spent just over £100 restoring it. I began the restoration by stripping all the parts. I came to a standstill when it was time to remove the 2 posts. At first I thought it was threaded. Then I tried pushing from the bottom. Final...
Antique Wrench you never knew existed
Переглядів 256 тис.3 роки тому
In this video I will be sharing a unusual tool with you. I found this spanner/wrench on eBay and had to buy it. After waiting a week for the auction to end I was fortunate enough to win it for a gut wrenching price of £58. Funnily enough I was willing to pay much more. I am known to spend 50 pence to £2 on tools so shelling out this much was most definitely out of the ordinary. At first I had n...
Ratchet Corner Brace Restoration
Переглядів 62 тис.3 роки тому
Welcome to My tiny Workshop In this video I will be restoring a rusty brace. After a lot of searching I couldn’t find any information on who produced this brace. There was only a stamp that said foreign. This brace is rather unique. Most braces have wooden or plastic handles. However this one was aluminium. I remember the day I bought this at a local boot sales. The moment I saw it I knew it wo...
I make a new handle for this Screwdriver - Can I revive it?
Переглядів 90 тис.3 роки тому
In this video I will be restoring a vintage Marples screwdriver. I bought this screwdriver at a local boot sale for 20p. At the time of purchase I had planned to make a handle by hand. However I managed to stumble across a lathe with an upgraded motor and a variable speed controller along with tools for £100. Making this screwdriver handle was the second time I had ever touched a lathe. To my s...
Can I fix this Broken Vice/Vise Swivel Base - Simple Restoration
Переглядів 24 тис.3 роки тому
In this video I will be restoring / fixing a broken vice swivel. I will use this swivel to finally mount a vice to my workbench. This swivel was given to me for free since it was broken. Although I knew it needed a lot of welding (I’m a terrible welder and I despise it) I accepted the swivel knowing it would serve me well if I could successfully repair it. After a lot of stress welding and rewe...
Vintage Record 84 Vice / Vise Restoration - Copper Jaw and Mirror Finish

In this video I will be restoring a vintage record 84 vice. When I saw this vice I knew it was my job to give it a new lease of life. Since I have so many different vices I decided to make this one a bit special. Seeing that it didn’t come with jaws I took the opportunity to make soft copper jaws. In addition I decided to go agains what I usually do and polish as many parts as possible. After m...
EXTREMELY Rusty Antique Mill RESTORATION

EXTREMELY Rusty Blacksmith Vise Restoration - Custom Spring and Stand

In this video I will be restoring an old post vice. This was a challenging and educational restoration. As you will see i purchased this vice without a spring. Once the vice was clean and rust free I applied danish oil to protect the metal. Although I have...

EXTREMELY Rusty Vintage Potato Scale HUGE RESTORATION

In this video I will be restoring large vintage potato sack scale from 1956. I purchased this from a farm with a full set of weights for only £35. As you will see in the video the quality starts at 1080p and jumps to 4K half way through tear down. I started this video over 6 months ago hence the change in video quality viewing experience. At the end of the video you will see that I “calibrated”...

While examining it i realised the majority of the pump was brass. This was enough for me...

In this video I will be restoring a Record 120-10 G Clamp. Although this was a rather simple restoration it did come with some challenges. After a couple bends I had a handle that was unique and unlike any other. The ne...

Nice restore, some comments: 1- the cotter pin retaining the spring should be a solid pin instead, must have gotten replaced at some point 2- why did you round off the jaws like that? the vice is meant to have sharp square jaws 3- the white lettering is not the originals, but a nice touch if you like that sort of thing.

It sure is good. It’s a medium roast, single source, smooth coffee with no bitterness. The cup score was initially 84 not it’s been retested and got a score of 91. They are now roasting in smaller batches to have a more consistent roast. I suggest trying it. Who knows, it might end up being your new favourite coffee.

Thank you. I’m back but not like before, i still don’t understand how I managed 1 video a week back then. Finally someone recognised the Chas Parker. I have to apologise but I didn’t film the restoration. Restoring is therapy for me and I really needed the time to enjoy this project without the stress of filming. Iv had that vice for a few years. You can actually see it at the beginning of the potato scale video. My main bench vice is a Swindon’s (yes I also restored that quietly a couple years ago). The knurling on the jaws are too rough for some projects so I had to choose a second vice to do the more gentle work. The options were the Chas Parker or the record 84 I restored on UA-cam. The Chas Parker is a far superior vice and a dream to work with. The technology is amazing. I’m working on a instagram, I’ll be putting before and after pics there from other projects iv done. It’s called mtwrestoration or mytinyworkshop.

Very nice restoration...and the filming was good too. Only one minor flaw...I think the draw needed a spring in both sides to be better centered ...seemed to me the draw was pushed more to one side. Still give You a 9 out of 10 ...and now I'm new subscriber

    • @mytinyworkshop1213

Welcome to the channel. The original design had one spring and it’s designed to be pushed to one side. Surprisingly that little spring has a tight grip on the drawer. It seems like the friction of the draw pressed against the casting helps keep it in place.

The original cast is so beautiful, it would have been a crime to cover it up. Now that I have this new coffee I also needed something to grind the beans. I’m too frugal to buy a new grinder so It only made sense to share the process with everyone and also give people a chance to upgrade to a mould free coffee.
